About RESA
APPNA offers live CME activities, including courses, conferences and workshops. APPNA's long-standing commitment to quality continuing medical education for physicians and healthcare professionals supports our mission to optimize patient care — programs are designed to engage learners in interactive sessions, provide the most up-to-date information and strategies, and develop or enhance skills that can be applied in clinical practice, research or teaching.
APPNA is accredited by the ACCME (Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education) to provide these credits. This accreditation ensures the quality and impartiality of our programs, with the current re-accreditation cycle active for 2025.

Purpose
Mission & purpose
The mission of the APPNA Office of Continuing Medical Education is to assist practicing physicians, advanced practice providers and other healthcare professionals with educational activities that enhance their knowledge and skills, and to apply those skills to improve performance and patient outcomes in their practice settings.
Its purpose is to collaborate with APPNA members to identify educational needs and to design, implement, evaluate and document educational conferences and initiatives.

Certify learning activities
Certifying activities for physicians that meet ACCME Essentials, Criteria and Standards for Commercial Support.

Track CME credit
Tracking credit for physicians and other healthcare providers who attend APPNA CME-certified activities.

What the CME office covers

Content areas
All areas of contemporary primary and specialty practice, including leadership and management skills — presented when appropriate to physicians and of benefit to patients or public health.

Target audience
Practicing physicians, advanced practice providers and other healthcare professionals of APPNA's membership — and, when appropriate, a national and international audience.

Activity types
Regional, national and international symposia and conferences, spanning the basic medical sciences, clinical medicine and the provision of healthcare to the public.

CME credit application
Interested in offering AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ through an educational activity sponsored by APPNA or an affiliate program? APPNA is accredited by the ACCME, which ensures the quality and impartiality of our programs.
Complete the CME Application Form
The form gathers the information needed for compliance with all ACCME accreditation rules and regulations.
Must be filled by the CME Chair
The application must be completed by the CME Chair responsible for the overall educational program.
Submit at least 30 days ahead
Applications must be submitted at least 30 days before the activity's start date — no exceptions. Incomplete applications are returned without processing.
Once submitted, the APPNA RESA Coordinator will reach out to guide you through the next steps.
